A Wonderful Wizard of Oz Birthday Party
We had a ball designing for a Wizard of Oz-themed first birthday party at The Mansion at Oyster Bay (formerly The Woodlands) in Woodbury on Long Island. We were instructed to go over the top, and over the top is exactly what we did! There was no detail that was forgotten with this adorable party, from the custom "tornado," that featured farm animals and miniature doll furniture, right at the entrance, to the yellow brick road lined with red poppies and yellow daises on each side, under a stunning rainbow balloon archway. Oh, how fun!
The party was filled with themed props and games all over the rooms, including the wicked witch's legs peeking out from a fern plant. Guests played an array of games, including "Pin the Courage Medal on the Cowardly Lion," Fill the Tin Man with Messages of Love," and "Stuff the Scarecrow with Brains." And who could forget Dorothy's candy bar! We also custom designed an "Oz" photo backdrop and scattered life-size artwork of the key characters throughout the room.
Last, but certainly not least, were the stunning "Emerald City" tabletop arrangements- made to replicate miniature Emerald Cities at each table.
It certainly was one of the most unique first birthday parties we've ever had the pleasure of working on! Now click your heels three times to take a look through photos of this great event...
