Romantic or Funny Story: In the summer of 2001 my best friend and I went to barcelona and Portugal on our summer vacation.

I am Portuguese and I go to Portugal every summer to visit family and friends in mother's hometown. Although I have a wonderful time every that I go the summer of 2001 was different.

My girfriend and I were enjoying an espresso in a cafe on the beach when we heard some guys speaking English. Naturally, we turned to see who it was. Much to my surprise, I realized that it was a guy that I knew and hadn't seen since I was about 14.

He, then introduced us to the other two gentlemen he was with, little did I know that I was just introduced to the love of my life, Paulo! We spent two wonderful weeks in Portugal, not romantically but getting to know each other as friends. Our vacation in Portugal had come to an end, it was time to come back to NY. It was sad but the more ironic part of this

story is that Paulo and I lived only 30 miles away fromeach other in NY! i didn't see Paulo again until January of 2002 but that first night that we actually went out on a date I knew I was looking into the eyes of the man I would spend the rest of my life with! The feeling was mutual, because on APril 19, 2003 Paulo took me to Montauk Point, the closes we could get

to Portugal, where we met, to ask me to be his wife. Now we look forward to a very happy life together visiting his families hometown and my families hometown in Portugal, where it all began!
